13 Feb Joanne Calvino is to join Weightlifting Wales as the new Coach Education Manager
Taking up the role in mid February 2018, Joanne will work alongside the Sports Manager Simon Roach, Weightlifting Wales staff, Sport Wales and many other organisations to develop and implement a robust coach education programme, not only for those involved in Weightlifting throughout Wales, such as members, lifters, coaches, officials and clubs; but the wider fitness, Crossfit, Strength and Conditioning communities.
Calvino is a highly experienced and respected Weightlifting athlete, she brings a wealth of knowledge to the role with over 20 years of involvement as an athlete, coach and technical official in Weightlifting. Joanne has competed at all major internationals and most notably a 21 times British Senior Champion. She has exceptional knowledge of the sport and her background of education development in both swimming and diving will take the Welsh Weightlifting educational programme to the next level.
