25 Oct Commonwealth Championships 2015
Excellent results for Weightlifting Wales at the Commonwealth Championships in Pune, India. Representing Team Wales were Gwilym Parry, Sam Henderson, Phil Eaton, Stephanie Owens and Christie Williams.
The first day of competition saw Sam (Junior 56kg) lifting in the first group, where he snatched 86kg and clean & jerked 95kg, taking the Silver medal.
Christie (58kg) lifted in the second day of competition where she placed fifth, snatching 68kg and clean & jerking 86kg, setting a new personal best total.
The third day of competition saw Steph, Gwil and Phil lift in their groups. Steph (63kg) snatched 70kg and clean & jerked 90kg, and took the Bronze medal.
Phil (85kg) performed very well, snatching 125kg and clean & jerking 150kg.
Gwil (Junior 85kg) finished with a Bronze medal, where he snatched 116kg and cleand and jerked 145kg.
