02 Apr Lifting league – Round 0ne
Affiliated clubs of Weightlifting Wales have successfully completed the first round of the National Lifting League.
This round of events not only saw new clubs participating, but a wide range of lifters competing, schools to senior age groups and beginners to advanced.
Over one hundred lifters taking part.
A supportive and encouraging atmosphere was created at the host venues.
League venues for round one included – The Unit, Crossfit Llantrisant, SAW, Breeze’s Gym.
Competing teams included; Crossfit NW1, The Unit, HAWFC, Breeze’s Gym, Hoops Fitness, Willpower Weightlifting, Elite Fitness, Crossfit Llantrisant, Aspire Fitness, Strength Academy Wales, Crossfit Aberystwyth, South Pembrokeshire WL and Crossfit SA1.
Weightlifting Wales has received excellent feedback from coaches and lifters – whom are excited to compete in the next round.
Simon Roach, WW Sports Manager commented, “The creation of the National League is one of many parts to the 2015-2019 Strategy – with particular focus on developing participation levels in an enjoyable atmosphere. I am delighted with the success of this first round, the emphasis has definitely been on taking part within a supportive and enjoyable environment and as a result good performances and plenty of PB’s were shown. This initial success of the lifting league is most definitely credited to the clubs and members whom have organised and taken part”
