Weightlifting Wales Anti-Doping Statement

Weightlifting Wales Anti-Doping Statement

Dear members,

I would like to bring to your attention the following

“Prohibited Association: associating with a person such as an athlete, coach, doctor or physio who has been found guilty of a criminal or disciplinary offence equivalent to a doping violation”

Weightlifting Wales strongly advises all of it’s members, inclusive of athletes, coaches, volunteers, parents and clubs, to under no circumstances associate with any athletes who are serving a ban for doping, including training with and or attending workshops / seminars.

Weightlifting Wales believes that all athletes have the right to compete in sport knowing that they, and their competitors, are clean. We believe in clean sport and work in partnership with UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) to ensure that the integrity of our sport is protected.

The use of performance-enhancing drugs and other doping behaviour severely damages the legitimacy of sport and undermines the integrity of clean athletes.

Please make every effort to maintain your responsibility to be fully aware of the latest Anti-Doping regulations https://www.ukad.org.uk/

Kind regards

Simon Roach
