23 Sep Congratulations to the new Chair of Weightlifting Wales
Weightlifting Wales are delighted to announce that Darren Rogers has been appointed as the Chair of Weightlifting Wales.
Darren is a very well-known and respected member of Weightlifting Wales; a Category 1 IWF Referee, who has been present at nearly all WW and British Weight Lifting events for many years as a volunteer, Darren has had an exceptional impact in the Weightlifting world, within and beyond Wales and the UK. In other volunteer roles, Darren has played an important part in driving forward the work of a local charity based in Wales as a proactive Chairperson.
Darren joined the board via election during the General Meeting that took place on Tuesday 8thSeptember, along with Ross Miller and Julian Farmer. Also new the board, are Vicky Gottwald and Wendy Eley, all joining current members, Roy Headey and Gareth Evans. WW would also like to thank Mark Hendy for his 2+ years of service as he leaves the organisation, we wish him all the best.
WW are at an exciting point of change, with a new strategy about to be put in place, new staff members joining the team, and a seven-strong board of directors who bring a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to Weightlifting Wales.
